No hair extension method is literally permanent. Separate the time an installation can remain in place from the useful life of the hair itself. Attachment condition, natural hair growth, installation, processing and care all affect when maintenance or replacement is needed.

The maintenance appointment concerns the installed attachment and natural hair. Hair lifespan concerns whether the removed hair remains suitable for reuse. A bundle that can be reused does not mean the original attachment should remain in place for the same period.
Tape systems may need removal, cleaning and compatible replacement adhesive. Ring systems require professional checks of the ring, tip and placement. Sew-in wefts require assessment of the track and supporting installation. Fusion systems require product-specific removal and a decision about whether the supplied hair and bond are reusable.
A claimed lifespan without its test conditions is difficult to compare. Ask which shade, length, processing history and care routine the claim concerns. Lightened hair, chemical services, repeated heat styling and mechanical wear can affect the result; a grade label does not provide a guaranteed duration.
The installer should set the review and maintenance schedule for the individual client. Explain the likely tasks and costs separately from the initial hair purchase. For wholesale evaluation, record changes over your own sample routine and agree any written warranty terms before ordering.
