Weft maintenance involves both the hair lengths and the supporting installation. Follow the instructions for the exact weft and your installer’s care plan. The need for a refit depends on natural hair growth and attachment condition, not just how the visible hair looks.
Support the attachment when detangling and work gently from the ends upward. Avoid pulling at knots or catching a brush in the track. Ask the installer to demonstrate how to reach and care for the area around the installation without placing unnecessary tension on it.
Use a washing and drying routine appropriate to the weft and supporting technique. The attachment area needs attention as well as the visible lengths. Confirm which products and styling practices are compatible rather than applying a generic routine to every weft construction.
Confirm whether the supplied weft may be cut and how ends must be handled. Cutting an unsuitable track can cause unravelling or shedding. Any modification, re-sewing or refit should follow the product guidance and the installer’s assessment.
After professional removal, review the seam, attachment area, hair condition, tangling and end fullness. Record damage or product changes before reinstalling. A reusable weft does not come with a universal refit count or a guaranteed hair lifespan.
When trialling a new weft, note method, shade, length, weight and care conditions. Compare observations after the same routine, and keep the approved sample for reorder discussions. This helps separate a construction issue from differences in installation or handling.
